John Dryden was an English poet, literary critic, translator and playwright who was made Poet Laureate. Dryden is one of the foremost poets of Restoration England. His poems were often factual in subject matter and he often used formal structures such as heroic couplet, which he established as a standard form of English poetry in his successful satires. CONDITION In half morocco bindings. Externally, smart with rubbing to extremities and fading to spines. Bookplate to front pastedown of each volume. internally, firmly bound. Pages generally bright and clean with scattered spotting to first and last.
