Description: Original 1856 copy of Macaulay's, "Essays, Critical and Miscellaneous." The book is overall in very good condition with some minor signs of wear and age. The covers have some light wear. The binding is good and sound. There is a period name inscription of one Samuel A. Duncan of Dartmouth College to the front fep and some penciled notations to the endpapers and some of the text pages. One of the leaves has a funny folded corner from a printing error. The interior is toned from age with some occasional light foxing. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection, such as a tiny tear or chip, creased page corner, light bit of soiling or grubbiness, etc. Generally though, it's a nice copy. The book measures approximately 9 1/2 inches by 6 inches and is 744 pages long. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
