Amasa Walker (May 4, 1799 - October 29, 1875) was an American economist and United States Representative. Walker was a frequent contributor to periodical literature, especially on financial subjects. He prepared 7 volumes of Transactions of the Agricultural Societies of Massachusetts, from 1848-1854. The Massachusetts Society for Promoting Agriculture (M.S.P.A.) is one of the earliest agricultural societies in the United States, incorporated by an act of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts on March 7, 1792. The Society’s founding members included Samuel Adams, Charles Bulfinch, Timothy Pickering, Benjamin Lincoln, Christoper Gore, and Benjamin Guild.
