A great find from a local New England estate! This antique volume is over 179 years old! In nice condition overall! Originally published in 1840, this is a later Family Library edition by Harper & Brothers. Cloth binding with leather spine, with what appears to be a paper title label pasted to the spine. Exterior shows some rubbing and soiling to the boards and spine, some general wear around the extremities including bumping to the corners and spine extremes, and some soiling and spotting to the page edges. Otherwise this is a nicely preserved antique volume! Internally, this volume is in good shape overall. Both boards and all page groupings remain attached to the binding. There are no bookplates, signatures, inscriptions or library markings to note. The text block of this volume is clean overall. There is typical age-related toning to the pages and moderate foxing scattered throughout, as well as some general soiling, page creasing and light staining in the gutter, but otherwise this volume is clean and free from rips, tears, writing and markings.
