Description: 1840'S VICTORIAN GREETINGS CARD TYPE SCRAP - CONTENTS OF A LADY'S DRESSING BOX Circa 1840's, a charming handmade Victorian curiosity. Using embossed card the front contains nine lift up flaps, written to the outside items to be found in a ladies dressing box of the period. Under the flaps are written moralistic words. eg. under 'A Mirror' reveals 'Reflection'. In antique condition with some marks and wear from age and handling. The embossed card is tanned and foxed with two lateral creases, one of the flaps has been lost, as as some of the gilt paper surrounds. Card 18.6cm x 14.9cm.
