Description: 1835 Classic Liberty head $5 gold Half Eagle, die variety HM-1, authenticated / graded / encapsulated by NGC at Extremely Fine, XF-40. We are proud to make available another scarce coin in the Classic Liberty head half eagle Early American Gold series of 1834-1839, and certainly a notable specimen in the David MA Coins shop. The 1835 half eagle had a mintage of just under 500,000, and only an estimated 850 or so now survive - and this is one of better specimens. This NGC-authenticated coin is a superb specimen, with extraordinary lustre for an XF coin and no spots or damage. With its green-gold lustre on both sides, this half eagle, from what was still Early American history, is highly attractive and collectible, and scarce for its grade; hence the premium value as listed. This is one of those times that you acquire a coin, and are delighted and surprised when it arrives (we were).
