Boards are well on their way with splits in the leather (PHOTO 9) but no actual splits in the gutter of the end papers and no splits in the book. Geography Illustrated on a Popular Plan; or, A Geographical View of the World, Embracing the Manners, Customs, and Pursuits, of Every Nation.Rev J Goldsmith Published by Isaac R. Butts, Boston, 1829 International bidders please note: I utilize a third party shipper for international sales. Please note the actual shipping cost before purchasing. That is not my shipping fee and I neither receive it nor know what the amount is. Please do not commit to "buy it now" until you have seen the shipping amount that you will be charged. Thank you. If this note is repetitive for this auction I apologize MEDIA MAIL: The USPS allows books, records and other media to be mailed at a cheaper price than typical mail. It tends to be a much slower mailing process than standard mail. In addition, any employee of the USPS can open the package at ANY time for ANY reason to verify that what is inside is what should be inside. In most cases, the item is properly repackaged but in rare cases it is not, and an item can arrive damaged. As my feedback suggests, I package very carefully. If you receive a damaged item that has the appearance of having been poorly packaged, please contact me prior to leaving feedback so that it can be addressed. PLEASE NOTE: For book sales, I virtually always include a vinyl bag tightly wrapped on the exterior. This is an attempt to prevent any USPS employee from opening the package for inspection as it would be time consuming for them to repackage it. This is done simply because my packaging is done more carefully than their repackaging and also to protect the book from the elements. The vinyl bag covers cardboard protection and you can simply cut the bag open (carefully) and remove the contents. The cardboard protection is also typically held with tape and cutting in the obvious places will allow the cardboard to pop right open, exposing the book (in another protective vinyl bag). Using this method, you should be able to open any book I send in under a minute. No "buzz saw" is required. Thank you
