This company was incorporated in 1819, and during the 1820s, sold these stocks to fund their plan to build a wooden plank turnpike road through Rome in Oneida County NY. They finally began construction in 1846, and after 15 years of popular use the road dissappeared just as quickly as it was built, as it proved to be very costly to maintain.
