Description: 1815 Washington PA promissory note with 2 impressions of the 25 cent third federal revenue, RM277a (watermarked paper). Some paper loss from cut cancel. This bank is known to have used a wide variety of paste-ups to make up proper denominations. This is a much scarcer use where paper stamped for small size notes was turned sideways and two impressions of the stamp captured ot make a 50 cent payment of tax. Neat use.
