Free Shipping on Purchases of 5 or More Maps and Prints Description: It is an authentic Antique map with original handcolor outlining as issued on strong cotton paper, typical of the period. It is from Malte-Brun's Atlas Complet du Precis de la Geographie Universelle de M. Malte Brun, published in Paris by Chez Buisson in 1812. A copy of the Atlas title page is included for authenticity. It is blank on the reverse. It is being sold as a single sheet, not matted nor framed, as shown in the pic. It is often attributed to both Conrad Malte-Brun and Pierre M. Lapie, who primarily wrote the text and oversaw the accuracy. It is a rare early Malte-Brun map that is not often found, especially desireable for it color and accurate detail for the time period, as well as the nice vignette (scene) in the title area. Size: The map image measures approximately 8 3/4 by 11 3/4 inches (22x29cm) on a 10 by 13 1/4" (25x34cm) page with a margin all around for matting. Condition: It is in Very Good to Excellent condition for its age with very light overall tonal ageing, blank on reverse with handcolor outlining, basically as seen in the pics. Overall, it is very clean on a strong page that will frame up nicely, see the pics for more on condition. The pics are of the actual map, although the actual maps generally look better.
