Description: A small mintage of 27,550 for the date is listed, however, it is unknown how many of the overdate were struck or how many survive today. A leftover die from 1797 was over struck with an unusually small 8. The overdate is bold and this piece is sure to draw the attention of Bust Dime and overdate collectors. The present piece boasts light silver surfaces wholly plated in a hazy grey patina. Details are strong throughout with slight weakness on the reverse center.
