Description: PCGS authenticated and graded AU 55. Glossy steel brown and chocolate with lighter brown and tan in protected areas. The surfaces are smooth and the eye appeal of this cent is excellent. Just a few tiny contact marks including a nick at the corner of the eye, another at the ear lobe, and a small chip or dull tick on the lower edge of the cap. Nicely struck with a bold date and strong legends except for the usual weakness at EN in CENT (which did not receive enough of the planchet metal thanks to the high profile of the opposing head). EDS, Breen state I, prior to the appearance of the obverse die crack. Tied for CC#10 in the Noyes census, his photo #39445. Ex; Denis W. Loring - Thomas D.
