Description: 1792-1794 Kentucky Copper Token, called the “Kentucky” Token because the K is the top letter on the reverse, it lists all 13 of the original Colonies on the back with E Pluribus Unum “Out of many, One” in Latin. On the front the hand holding the scroll says “Our Cause is Just” and “Unanimity is the Strength of Society” It just doesn’t get any better as a Colonial United States Token made during the birth of this Nation! Hoo rah!! I take pictures under reflected light to show detail. Your coin, this coin as shown will be a warm brown. Please see my other listings for early U.S. coinage dating our origins from England and from whom we won our Independence and created our own democracy from their extensive history we come. Very desirable, collectible, minor crud on neck, otherwise looks like an exceptional strike with much detail, just a beautiful coin! This represents a part of Colonial Coinage manufactured and used here in Colonial America due to the shortage of copper and general scarcity due to the Revolutionary War and population increases throughout the Colonies this led to creating of non-regal or imitation coinage used here in the United States. Scarcity of early coinage in America where denominations were used primarily from Great Britain but other colonizing nations as well, the value was in the material either copper or silver, so almost any country's currency would pass hands. Kings and Queens of Great Britain: William and Mary 1689-1702 Anne 1702-1714 George I 1714-1727 George II 1727-1760 George III 1760-1820 Historically important date during the colonization of America and our history. Thanks for your consideration. Jonathan
