Description: Presented is an antique, English sterling silver gravy or sauce boat made in London in 1781. This 18th century, Georgian piece is done in a classic form and is raised on a pedestal base. One side has a hand engraved crest of a crowned lion's head. The boat is a good weight for its size. The underside bears the crowned leopard's head mark for the city of London, the lion passant for sterling silver purity, a date letter f for the year 1781 and a maker's mark which is possibly for Thomas Herring or Thomas Heming. This piece is in great condition for its age. There is minor surface wear and a few tiny dings to the body, but there are no major damages and no repairs. The boat measures 8inches from handle to spout and is 5 1/2 inches tall. Weight: 318 grams or 11.2 ounces. Powered by SixBit's eCommerce Solution
