In fair condition. Front board detached. Light wear to extremities with moderate scuffing at corners. Light wear to spine with light chipping at ends and joints. Full red morocco spine. Gilt stamped edges and corners are beautifully bright and clean. Finely bound overall. Previous owner’s bookplate has been removed from paste on de. Light toning to edges of marbled end papers. Gilt dentelles bright. 20th century ownership of Robert Garner dated March 17th, 1968 with rudimentary doodles of grapes flanking the signature. Old hand ownership of Edward P. Thomson dated April 1816 on title. The Thomspon family has Oxford roots, but this particular Thompson can not be easily traced. Dampness staining throughout textblock with instances of foxing and light age stain. Offsetting from frontis onto title. Free of known marginalia. Binding remains intact. All edges gilt.
