An evenly inked, early example, all of the detail is crisp and clear, with excellent tonal contrast. Superb quality. Incredible detail everywhere you look in this packed composition. The item comes from the "Evangelicae Historiae Imagines" of Hieronymus Natalis (Nadal), an important Jesuit Counter-Reformation treatise first published in 1593. * Collaert only contributed a handful of plates to this work. Very scarce indeed.
