Description: Why’d the beetle cross the road is a 1985 short film that apparently premiered at festivals and was made in Canada. It has amazing color as a beetle tries to make his way across a beach, full of bikers and runners and kids poking him with forks. The whole time the beetle can be heard humming tunes. Kids in a classroom are asked the question of why the beetle crossed the road, and a girl answers “ to see his girlfriend.” then we see the beetle reunite with a girl beetle. That’s it. Weird short, to be sure, with lots of mid-80s style. Runs about eight minutes. On a metal reel in a metal can.
