Description: Very unique and collectible Italian modern sculpture of a Rough Collie dating from the 1940s. Made by the studio of FAVARO CECCHETTO in Italy, this is a rare sculpture of a long-haired collie with dark brown, white and black features. Plus, look at that gorgeous pink tongue and white teeth! It’s such a dramatic piece of art. So beautiful and extremely valuable and collectible. The piece is stamped/signed by Favaro Cechetto and marked with a number “1609” on the bottom, as shown in the photo. Look at all of the amazing detail: the swoops of long fur we love on a rough collie, a full, furry tail and even the little toe nails. The artist clearly loved collies and art! This gorgeous sculpture has only one flaw – the back/rearfoot has been glued on. It’s completely invisible from the front where you are normally looking at the dog, though. See the photo I shared with a red circle around the foot and also another photo showing two tiny white spots on the ear– given the way the sculpture shines in light, no one is going to notice either, honestly. I only found the ear marks when going over the piece with afine tooth comb for this listing. I read online that the studio of Favaro Cecchetto was established in the late 1930s and basically stopped production in the 1940s, so while this feels more like a 1960s piece, I guess it must be from the 1930s or 1940s. Measures: H: 13” W: 10.5” D: 6.75” Please feel free to make me an offer. Also, check out the other gorgeous pottery I have for sale! I'll do my best to combine shipping and save you money : )
