Description: Extremely rare superb set of 11 aesthetic movement pink turtle or terrapin or soup bowls. Handcrafted by Bodley in the early 1900s, these pink bowls depict a turtle, which was a special soup course in Victorian times. The inner white portion is molded like a shell and the borders have turtle's head, tail, arms and legs in relief. The areas in between the turtle's limbs contain beautifully naturalistically painted images of fish in a natural tropical aquatic environment. All is highlighted with delicately 22-karat gold gilt highlights. Simply superb. No two are identical. They are perfect for collectors of antique porcelain, and are sure to impress guests at your next dinner party.
