This Kukri is very famous among Military Knife collectors because of the fact that this is the very design that the Kukri carried by the Gurkhas in hand-to-hand combat in the Jungle of Burma during world War l. This Kukri knife played a very significant role in creating the history of the Gurkhas. We re-constructed the Kukri based on antique Kukri that was used during WWI and customized the weights, its width, handle (eg. lanyard) and sheath to utilize in this modern world. This Kukri was also great to use for any kind of heavy workloads. It can be used to chop fire wood, cut through bone and for clearing brush. The blade is made of Highly Graded Carbon Steel and it is semi-polished. It is broad and more curved then Standard Kukris making it perfect for lengthy use. Unlike many other handles such as rat tail etc., the Handle on this Kukri is flat full tang with artistic design visible all around the handle (see pictures.) The handle and blade are one single piece. Two Rosewood pieces Attached strongly to the metal part of the handle with three metal rivets and adjusted lanyard hole on handle. Two Accessory Knives: The Karda; which has a sharp edge is used of skinning animal hairs & other one is called Chakmak (blunt) is used for sharpening blade. 10.25" Henshee Balance Historical World War I This is handcrafted kukri therefore please note that each one might have slight variations in measurement.Blade Size & Type: 10.1/4"OR 26.03cm, Highly Grade Carbon Steel, Highly Polished.Blade Thickness: 3/8" Or 0.95mm at the spine(Approx)Handle size: 5.1/4" Or 13.33cm, Full tang, made of Rose WoodOverall Length: 15.1/2" or 39.37cm from tip to pommel. If its necessary to touch the blade, you should clean it by using petrol/gasoline or oil and wipe with soft cloths. 3. Your Kukri blade is made of Carbon Steel and can rust easily. In case of rusting rub it with a fine sandpaper, clean the dirt using some oil or gasoline and wipe it with a clean soft cloth then apply oil. Check the blade frequently and apply oil regularly. 4. Use shoe polish for the leather sheaths. Use brass polish or silver polish (the type used for brass fittings or sliver sheaths). 5. Most of the Kukris come with two utility knives; the blunt knife (chakmak) is used for sharpening the blade The other one - sharp edge (karda) is used for small tasks such as a pen knife.
