He literally wrote the authoritative book on the subject, and was starting to make lutes in this truly historic fashion before other lute makers caught on later in the 80s. Ebony and ivory inlay with incredible shaded yew, using wood from one of the finest collections of tonewoods in the world. 40 years old and zero warping. It has almost never been played, and I am the second owner, and have had it restrung (it still had the original strings on it when I got it).
