Resistors are, far and away, the most prevalent component in audio circuitry. The installation of noninductive wirewound resistors in place of generic carbon composition and/or metal film types is the most audible modification available to the audiophile and recording professional. This resistor type will never again be manufactured in meaningful quantities as the tooling, the techniques, and the trained workforce required for production is all but extinct.
